LIFE Multi-AD participated in the EU Water Innovation Conference – EUWIC 2019

The Technological Institute of Aragón – ITAINNOVA presented the LIFE Multi-AD project in a session in which other projects financed by the LIFE program were presented.

Dna. Ana Martínez Santamaría, researcher at the Aragón Institute of Technology – ITAINNOVA, presented the LIFE Multi-AD 4 Agro SMEs Project (LIFE17 ENV / ES / 331) at the EU Water Innovation Conference – EUWIC 2019, held in Zaragoza (Spain) from 11 to 13 December 2019. The Conference, which was attended by around 900 people, presented proposals for innovation and best practices in water management at the technical, governance and policy levels.

The discussion was included in the session “More management, less impact”, organized by the LIFE MCUBO project, in order to promote policy and management for an ambitious goal in water protection, addressing mainly issues such as the issue of efficient water use and wastewater treatment in the food and beverage industry. A new technique for treating groundwater for human consumption was also discussed.

The main objective of the LIFE Multi-AD 4 AgroSMEs project is the development and industrialization of a fully automated wastewater treatment system generated by small and medium enterprises in the food sector. This technology is based on the design of a high performance anaerobic reactor, patented by AEMA, and its production will be customized according to the specific needs of each customer.

The LIFE Multi-AD 4 AgroSMEs project will reduce the impact of SMEs in the food and beverage sector on the environment and the operating costs of treating and managing their waste.
